Checkout the new Freebo app, coming soon on Google Playstore. It is a book seeker app that will be able to locate and connect seekers for any old or new book. And guess what it was created by a seventh class student of a Noida school.Yes Seventh grader!
Aditi Jain, the seventh grader has won the Code to Learn initiative of Google India. She has created the app as part of her project for the contest. Launched by former President Dr APJ Abdul Kalam ,it has been included in the National Innovation Mission of the ministry of Human Resources and Development. The contest has been divided into three categories for students of grade fifth-sixth, seventh-eighth and ninth-tenth.
Aditi Jain is among the three winners in the second category where the project involved innovating something using two softwares of Google: Scratch or App inventor. These softwares have been created by MIT.
Aditi mentioned that normally people are unaware of what to do with their old books while some sell them to the raddiwalla, others simply throw them so she thought that it would be good to try and find an interface between book donors and seekers. And thus worked on creating this app !
